How do you sell credit in retail when customers only want to use their mileage cards?

Posted on Apr 12, 2008 under credit card | 2 Comments

Lets say your ringing in a transaction and at the end of that transaction you offer your customer a 10% discount if they apply for a store credit card and are approved. Like most people they decline the offer. Instead they insist on using their card that awards airline mileage per dollar spent. Our card offers free shipping on full priced merchandise, 10% of first transaction, monthly coupons, and payments ava online and in store locations. The fine print of our credit card agreement is a 24% interest. SO my question is how do i convince them that our card is better and how can i make my store more successful in exceeding their goal to percent for credit? Since that is a large part of how our success is measured.

My stolen credit card information was used in CA, I live in CO … What is the best way to prosecute?

Posted on Apr 12, 2008 under credit card | 2 Comments

Unlike many ID VICTIMS I have heard about, I was lucky enough to be online and watch my bank account dwindle and was able to catch the ID THIEF. The problem I seem to be haveing is the "THEFTS" happened in California, yet I live in Colorado. What problems will I have if I prosecute in Colorado compared with California … compared with a federal case. Many of the law enforcement agencies are not interested in spending a large amount of time since the amount was less than $1,500.00. Any thoughts? Any cases you know of that are similar to this so I can refer a judge to that case?

Thanks!
Little more details:
I have the credit card, the information from it was stolen (the number, my name, the 3 digit security number on the back). As soon as I saw the memo posted charges, I stopped the credit card, contacted the bank, and the local police. I have been re-imbersed for ALL charges … I just want this guy off the street so he won't do it to YOU.

I've heard that you cannot get denied for a stafford loan.. yet I have… Why?

Posted on Apr 11, 2008 under loan | 2 Comments

I live in NY and everyone here has told me that you cannot get denied for a stafford loan for college… yet i've applied..three times.. and I've been denied all three times.. Any reason why that would be? Account history and credit history are not a factor because I know people who are worse off than me and they are getting loans to go to school and they are younger than me. I've been trying for years and I've had no progress. Can someone help me?
My credit is nonexistant… and I've tried applying everywhere… multiple schools… multiple banks.. even tried cosignors and nothin.. They tell me unless I'm 24, married, or have a kid they have to go by my parents income (even tho I'm out of the house and in my own place) and my dad makes too much money to qualify.
I've been trying since I graduated HighSchool in 2002 and it's always the same thing no matter where I go or who I apply with.. yet my 18 year old brothers both got salliemae loans to go to school and their academic preformances and credit are worse than mine

What is the diffrence between a student loan and a grant and how do you appy for each?
