Can I transfer the balance from a relative’s Best Buy credit card (APR 20.99%) to a new Citi credit card (APR 0% for 6 mo. on purchases and balance transfers) without having to take a cash advance on the Citi credit card?

my parents just gave me a credit card. i have never used one. and i think im going to today at the mall. but i dont want to look stupid in front of the cashier. how do you use one? like what side do you slide down the machine? and do you wait for them to say something before you put your pin number in? do i have to tell them im using a card? or do i just slide it after they give me the price?thanks!!!!(=
when i get up to pay do i use the card like a gift card where you give the people the card and they do it or do i use it like a credit card where i swipe it on the little thing and sign?? it is a prepaid gift card from american express

Yahoo wont allow me to accept credit cards. Paypal wont allow me to recieve my money in my Ugandan bank account. I need to have a bank account in the U.S. and my company needs to be based in the U.S. in order to accept credit cards. Please help because I have a hot business idea that needs to get off the ground. But it wont work unless I can do business and accept money online.
I am going on holiday in July for a month with my wife and 2 kids. I want to get the tickets now, so they are cheaper. I am hoping to get a bonus at work and a rebate for my over charged gas bill which, if they come off should pay for the tickets at a later date. I want to know which card company will charge the least for this and what card is best for going on holiday.
