MERS owns a property in my neighborhood. The latest occupant claims they own the house, but the county record doesn’t show a transaction for their purchase of the house. MERS is the current owner of record. I am thinking that the MERS system may be recording the transactions that occur with this house, thus "hiding" the transaction from public record.

Why do online survey companies make you jump through hoops to get any kind of payoff?

Online survey compamies promise you free gift cards etc. to take their surveys, then once you start answering questions, you’re taken from one ’survey’ to the next, often having to make a choice to join or buy something, in spite of them saying ‘no purchase/no obligation necessary’. I’m tired of jumping through hoops, then having to go back to the beginning and start over with nothing to show for my trouble. Are there ANY legit online surveys out there?
